Dr. Gayani Arachchi returned to New Zealand from Melbourne in 2023 and works across Bay Radiology and Tauranga Hospital. She has expertise in colorectal and genitourinary imaging, along with musculoskeletal and breast imaging, including interventional procedures.

Dr. Richard Downing completed his medical training at the University of Otago. He undertook his radiology training in Palmerston North and Auckland and was awarded FRANZCR in 2013.After gaining extensive experience both overseas and in New Zealand, Richard joined Bay Radiology and Tauranga Hospital in 2022. He has subspecialist interests in neuroradiology, head, neck and musculoskeletal imaging.

• Completed radiology training in Palmerston North and Auckland.

Dr. Gerard Eagar qualified in medicine at the University of Otago and trained as a specialist radiologist in Christchurch. Gerard is a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists examiner, and an International Accreditation New Zealand adviser. He has also previously been an advisor for the Health and Disability Commissioner.

Dr Tim Guest joined Bay Radiology in September 2025. He undertook sub-specialist training in gastrointestinal radiology in the UK, where he worked as an abdominal radiologist for five years. His interests include abdominal MRI, multi-modality bowel imaging and gastrointestinal fluoroscopy.

Dr. Gracie Keown completed her medical training at the University of Auckland in 2011 and her radiology training in Tauranga and Auckland. She completed a breast imaging fellowship with BreastScreen Aotearoa in 2019 and a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship in Perth in 2022-2023. In 2024, Gracie returned to Tauranga and joined Bay Radiology and Tauranga Hospital. She specialises in neuroradiology and breast imaging.

Dr. Guy Mason is a graduate of the Auckland training scheme. After working in Australia for a year, he joined the Bay Radiology team in 2007, became a partner in 2008, and then a Shareholding Radiologist of RHCNZ in 2022. Guy was Director of Registrar Training at Tauranga Hospital from 2007-2016.

Dr. Louise Moore joined Bay Radiology in 2006 as a Consultant Radiologist. She completed sub-specialist gastrointestinal radiology training at St. Mark’s Hospital London. Before relocating to Tauranga, she worked at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London as an abdominal radiologist. Louise's interests include abdominal MRI, bowel imaging techniques and pelvic floor imaging.

Dr. Liam Olsen has worked at Bay Radiology since the beginning of 2025. He has strong experience in PET-CT and Body Oncology having completed a Fellowship with Mercy Radiology in 2024. Liam is also passionate about Interventional Radiology and works across general, interventional and oncological radiology.

Dr. Sharath Prakash joined the Bay Radiology team in 2014. His sub-specialty interests include neuroradiology, head and neck and breast imaging.

Dr. Amanda Ragg has been part of the Bay Radiology team since 2001. She trained at Auckland University completing both science and medical degrees, and completed her radiology training in Auckland after two years as a house surgeon in Tauranga. She leads the weekly multidisciplinary meetings in orthopaedic and paediatric imaging, and has a particular interest in musculoskeletal MRI. Amanda took on the role of Managing Radiologist for Bay Radiology in 2025.

Dr. Kunaal Rajpal is a Radiologist with more than 10 years delivering quality healthcare. Kunaal joined Bay Radiology in 2014 and became a partner in 2017. He then became a Shareholding Radiologist when Bay Radiology became part of RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group in 2022.

Kunaal is an accredited radiologist with BreastScreen Aotearoa.

Dr. Duncan Wood joined Bay Radiology in 1998, following his specialist radiology training after studying at the University of Otago. He is the Clinical Director of BreastScreen Bay of Plenty, and has particular interests in musculoskeletal imaging and interventional radiology.
