As part of our ongoing commitment to patient care and improved outcomes, we’ve installed two new GE Pristina Via™ mammography machines at our Papamoa and Mount branches this month.

The GE Pristina Via™ is designed to:

  • Enhance patient comfort with advanced ergonomic design
  • Deliver exceptional image quality, even for dense breast tissue, supporting early and accurate detection
  • Maintain outstanding clarity across all breast thicknesses without compromise

We’ve also expanded access to tomosynthesis (3D mammography) across all our mammography sites: 17th Avenue, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa and Whakatāne, so more patients can benefit from advanced breast imaging closer to home.

“We’re proud to bring the latest breast imaging technology to our Bay of Plenty branches. By investing in advanced equipment like the GE Pristina Via™ and expanding 3D mammography access, we’re making it easier for patients to get high-quality care close to home. Early detection saves lives, and these upgrades are an important step toward better outcomes for our community,” Nicola Daisley, Regional Manager, Bay of Plenty.

These investments mean more people can access care earlier, more comfortably, and with better outcomes.
