We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sonographer who would relish the opportunity to join our team and work across our sites, including our new purpose-built space in Tauranga in a part time or full time position. You will bring clinical expertise, offering a welcoming, and empathetic imaging service to Bay’s patients, referrers and funders. This role will be conducting high-quality ultrasound exams, ensuring diagnostic imaging meets protocols and record data correct in our systems.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
- Be a qualified Sonographer – registered with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board and hold a current practising certificate
- Be driven and able to work within a multi-disciplinary team and independently
- Have a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including our patients and their family/whanau as well as other health care professionals and providers
- Have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Have a proven ability to demonstrate calmness under pressure
- Be a highly motivated, flexible team player
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality

Your workday will include: - Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations independently, ensuring optimal images for diagnosis.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and referring physicians to provide accurate interpretations of images.
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functionality and adhering to safety protocols.
- Document patient information, clinical history, and ultrasound findings accurately in the medical records.
- Comfort and educate patients throughout the imaging process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.

Appointment to this position will be conditional on a satisfactory Police vetting and risk assessment as per the Children's Act 2014.
