BreastScreen Aotearoa is the national screening service funded by the National Screening Unit of the Ministry of Health.
We are the providers of the BreastScreen Aotearoa service in the Bay of Plenty in partnership with TRG (Rotorua).
Women aged 45 – 69, who are symptom free and wish to have mammograms through the free Breast Screening Programme (every two years), should ring BreastScreen Aotearoa on:
0800 270 200 or visit www.breastscreen.govt.nz
Mammograms, under the scheme, are available at our Mount Maunganui, Tauranga and Whakatane branches.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer to affect New Zealand women. Regular mammography can reduce breast cancer deaths by 30 percent. Women who are experiencing breast symptoms such as a lump, pain or discharge should not wait for a screening mammogram but contact their GP as soon as possible.
